4 Fights at Prison - Lockdown

CLALLAM BAY, Wash. -- A lockdown has been ordered at the Clallam Bay Corrections Center following four unrelated fights among inmates in two days. One guard and one inmate were treated for slight injuries following one of the fights at the prison west of Port Angeles. A spokesman for the state prison system, Chad Lewis, says the lockdown began Monday afternoon. He says the fights were unrelated, because there were four on Sunday and Monday officials felt a lockdown was warranted. As a result all 850 inmates are confined to their cells while guards investigate and search for contraband. Lewis says three of the fights are being investigated internally. The Clallam County sheriff's office is investigating the one that resulted in the two minor injuries.
